Security and user rights settings may create problems with normal VBA
procedures (commonly known as "macros") which are essential for running the
JPL-System.
Special security and user rights settings are normally set in place by the system
administrator for "shared location/folders or drives" to prevent safety violations
i.e. Viruses and other bad guys from accessing your PC via networks.
We recommend the following:
- After creating your basic" estimating_xxx.xls file (on your PC1) make a
copy of the estimating folder to the "shared document location".
- Do not try to run it there! Use the shared document location as an
exchange folder only.
- Open the "shared document location" on the second PC (PC2) and copy
the entire "Estimating" folder to the hard drive of PC2.
- Be sure you know which version of Excel you have installed on PC2!
- Check the Excel security setting of PC2 according to the setup procedures
located on the installation DVD (preExcell2003.chm and preExcel2007.
chm)
- The Estimating module should then run on PC2!
Note that the JPL Estimating System application is designed for single-
location use only.
