First, make sure that you know where your JPL File (automatically
created during the installation process) is located. Then follow these
steps:
- Depending on your Windows© settings, the location should be indicated
when you put your cursor on the JPL icon, i.e.: Location:
C\\JPL_System_Version2003
- If not, then you can find the location of the JPL folder by going to the icon,
right clicking to open the context menu.
- Choose "properties"
- Choose the shortcut tab
- Look at the "start in" field to see where the folder is located.
- Close (cancel)
- Select a free spot on your desktop
- Right click with your mouse to open the context menu
- Go to "new"
- Choose "shortcut" (top)
- Click
- The "create shortcut" window will open
- Click on "browse"
- Open "my computer"
- Open Local Disk C (or alternative, if applicable)
- Look for the JPL System folder (You will have 2 folders if you have installed both default
and "playground" versions.
- Open the JPL system folder
- Choose your "Budget_yourfile_.xls"
- Click on the file and press "OK"
- Go to "next"
- Go to "finish"
- You will now have an icon of your file on the Desktop. This is a standard MS-Excel® icon
- If you want to change this icon, do the following:
- Select the icon on your desktop. Right click with your mouse to open the context menu.
- Choose "properties"
- Choose "change icon"
- Choose one of the pre-defined icons or use the browse button to select your own.
- Go to Local Disk C, choose the JPL folder and open the "help" file.
- Look for the JPL icon "Budget.ico"
- Click "OK"
- Click "Apply"
If you want to create an icon for the JPL Folder, so that you may quickly locate different budget
files, do the following:
- Right mouse click
- Browse
- Go to "my computer"
- Go to Local Disk C
- Look for JPL System Folder and select
- OK
- Go to "next"
- Choose new name if desired.
- Go to "finish"
- Now you have a shortcut for a folder to hold all your budget files.
